george wrote on Thursday, October 23, 2003 (PDT):MF65 was a great workhorse, but as with all Fergusons depended on wieght transfer for traction.MF developed what they called a Multi Pull Bar.It fitted on to the three point linkage and worked with a rolling pulley which had a chain attached.The pulley ran on a C shaped round bar between the two hydraulic arms.Whe pulling trailed implements, the chain was looped underneath the drawbar and hooked back onto the pulley.To gain extra traction you altered the draft control lever which as it raised the hydraulic arms the chain took the wieght of the trailed implement transferring the load onto the rear wheels of the tractor giving the extra grip when required.A simple device which made the MF65 a great tractor for working ground with heavy trailed implements, such as disc's
